Sabic Closes Part of U.K. Aromatics Complex

Sabic Europe says it plans to close its Aromatics 2 unit at the Sabic U.K. Petrochemicals complex near Seal Sands and its para-xylene production facility at Wilton, U.K. at the end of this year. Both plants are in the Teesside, U.K. region. Plans also include an upgrade of the remaining Aromatics 1 plant near Seal Sands. the company says that the economics of the units that will be closed have become unviable.
