CNPC and Rosneft Build Refinery and Petrochemicals Complex at Tianjin

Energy company Rosneft (Moscow) and China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) have held a foundation-laying ceremony for a previously announced $5-billion joint venture refinery and petrochemical complex at Tianjin, China. The refinery will have a throughput of 13 million m.t./year of crude and is scheduled for completion in 2015. A feasibility study for the complex was carried out by East China Petroleum and Natural Gas Exploration and Design Institute. The refinery will produce aromatics and polypropylene, as well as refined products and liquefied petroleum gas...
