Invista to Idle Plant, Cut Jobs

Invista, a subsidiary of Koch Industries (Wichita, KS), says that it will cut about 240 jobs at its Maitland, ON nylon intermediates and specialty materials plant as part of a restructuring plan that will take place over the next several months. Portions of the site will be idled long-term, including its adipic acid, dibasic esters, and hexamethylenediamine (HMD) units, the company says. “Current market conditions and evolving market trends necessitate that the Maitland site pursue this restructuring,” says Joe Hendriks, site manager at the...
