Chemical train derailment kills 2 (updated)

An explosion on board a train carrying chemicals has killed 2 people and injured 93 near the town of Schellebelle, Belgium. The fire broke out when six tanker wagons derailed on 4 May. DSM confirmed that 5 of the railcars in the train were leased by the company to transport acrylonitrile and that some of these were among the railcars that derailed and caught fire.  The fire was allowed to burn in a controlled way to prevent further chemicals being released.
