Sterling Extends Acetic Acid Deal

Sterling Chemicals says it has extended its acetic acid supply agreement with BP Amoco Chemical (BP; Naperville, IL), extending their current deal through 2031. BP has the right to purchase all of the acetic acid that Sterling produces at a 500,000-m.t./year plant at Texas City, TX. The amended agreement extends the supply deal’s expiration date from July 31, 2016, until December 31, 2031, Sterling says.
