Celanese declared force majeure at the site on May 14 after an unplanned outage, and said at the time that it expected to restart the plant by the end of May. Celanese extended the force majeure late last month, after two restart attempts failed (CW, Aug. 1/8, p. 24). Celanese anticipates the outage to reduce full-year earnings by 15 cts-25 cts/share.
