TiO2 producers are imposing energy surcharges as a result. Tronox announced a 4-cts/lb energy surcharge on all of its TiO2 grades sold to the North American paper market. The surcharge is due to take effect on October 15. DuPont Titanium Technologies also announced an identical energy surcharge, which will take effect November 1.
