Industry consolidation among TiO2 producers will be positive for margin recovery, and new tax and regulatory constraints will raise costs and limit capacity growth for Chinese producers, says Frank Mitsch, analyst at BB&T Capital Markets (New York). While China’s annual demand has grown 15% annually, production growth has also increased and TiO2 exports from China helped limit global price increases...
