Total Acquires Interest in U.S. Polysilicon Firm

Total says it has acquired a 25.4% interest in polysilicon production technology startup AE Polysilicon (AEP; Fairless Hills, PA) for an undisclosed sum. AEP has developed a cost-competitive production process to manufacture granular polysilicon for photovoltaic panels and is in the process of building a 1,800 m.t./year facility, Total says.
