Rhodia and Dow Corning Co-develop Materials for Greener Tires

Rhodia and Dow Corning say they have agreed to co-develop and commercialize novel silica and silane products principally for use in energy efficient tires. Financial terms were not disclosed.   Precipitated silica and silane can be used to reduce the rolling resistance of tires and so can cut fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
