PPG to Increase Global Silica Capacity

PPG Industries says it will increase global capacity of precipitated silica by 18,000 tons/year due to growing global demand. The capacity expansion includes projects at PPG’s production facilities at Lake Charles, LA, and Delfzijl, the Netherlands. “PPG is committed to the precipitated silica market, and these investments will enable us to continue meeting the growing needs of our customers for high-quality precipitated silica,” says Kevin Braun, general manager of silica products at PPG.
