LDK Plans to Triple Polysilicon by 2013

LDK Solar (Xinyu, China) says it has broken ground on a 30,000-m.t./year polycrystalline silicon manufacturing plant at Hohhot, China, and together with other growth initiatives will increase its polysilicon production capacity more than three-fold by 2013. LDK's LDK Silicon & Chemical Technology subsidiary currently has the capacity to produce 17,000 m.t. annually.
