Wacker Chemie is making the most of very high growth in demand for silicon wafers from the photovoltaic (PV) industry with plans to expand its business faster than the market, says Axel Schmidt, managing director of Wacker Schott Solar (Jena, Germany), an equally owned joint venture between Wacker and Schott Solar (Alzenau, Germany).
