Yara Reports Strong Second-Quarter Results; EPS Ahead of Estimates

Yara International (Oslo) today reported strong second-quarter results with increased sales volumes, especially for Yara-produced fertilizers. The company says that margins strengthened compared with last year—especially for urea—reflecting a tight nitrogen fertilizer market. Yara’s net income after noncontrolling interests reached NK2.8 billion ($460 million). Earnings per share (EPS) rose to NK9.86 from NK7.73 in the same period last year.
