Uralkali reports higher revenue and potash sales despite lower prices

Uralkali (Berezniki, Russia), one of the world’s largest potash producers, today announced an increase in first-quarter revenues and in production. The company has also agreed to a $450-million loan with five banks. Revenue in the first three months of this year was up 17% year-on-year (YOY), to $862 million, and production of potassium chloride (KCl) advanced 38%, to 2.9 million m.t./year.
