Tata Chemicals to Invest in Fertilizer Complex in Gabon

Tata Chemicals (Mumbai) says it will invest $290 million to acquire a 25.1% stake in stream one of a previously announced ammonia-urea complex at a port location in Gabon. Olam International (Singapore), a supply chain manager and processor of agricultural products and food ingredients, holds 62.9% stake in the project, and the government of Gabon holds 12%.  Olam had announced last November that it has agreed to form an 80-20 joint venture with the government of Gabon to build the ammonia-urea complex.
