Strong Potash Demand Boosts K+S's Second-Quarter Results

K+S Group (Kassel, Germany) reported a 21% increase in operating profits for the second quarter of 2012 compared with the corresponding period of last year, to €220 million ($271.5 million), on sales also up 21%, to €996.5 million. Adjusted group earnings from continued operations increased 17%, to €141 million. Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) from continued operations grew 17.5% year-on-year, to €0.74.
