Simplot Increases Dry Phosphate Production at Wyoming Site

Fertilizer producer J.R. Simplot says it will expand its Rock Springs, WY, facility, increasing dry phosphate production by more than 30%. The expansion will form the foundation of future expansions in liquid and dry fertilizers and is expected on line in early 2014, the company says. The firm’s Vernal, UT, mine supplies phosphate ore to the Rock Springs facility and is expected to meet the incremental ore volumes for expansion efforts without further investment.
