Report: Vale secures extension to Argentina potash work plan, denied $2-billion tax break

Vale (Rio de Janeiro) has requested that the Mendoza, Argentina provincial government extend, until the end of this month, a deadline for the presentation of a work plan for continuation of development of the company's Rio Colorado potash project, according to a report in the Buenos Aires Herald. The company extended the end-of-year leave for workers at the potash development site in Rio Colorado during January. The extension led to speculation that the project would be canceled.
