PotashCorp’s Earnings Double; Announces Stock Split

Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan (PotashCorp) reported fourth-quarter earnings of $482.3 million, more than double earnings in the same period of 2009. The company cites “significantly improved demand and strong price momentum across all three nutrients.” Sales rose 65%, to $1.8 billion. PotashCorp says potash volumes more than doubled from last year, to 1.6 million m.t., due to “robust” global demand in most regions.
