Pequiven starts up ammonia plant

Production has started at Petroquímica de Venezuela's (Pequiven; Valencia, Venezuela) new 1,800-m.t./day ammonia plant at the Morón petrochemical complex in Carabobo State, Venezuela, the company has announced. The plant uses reformed natural gas, and the ammonia will be used in the manufacture of NPK fertilizers and urea-based fertilizers. The start-up of the ammonia plant will be followed by the start-up of a urea plant, which is currently being brought onstream also at Morón.
