ONGC and Chambal Fertilisers sign MOU for fertilizer project in eastern India

Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC; Dehradun, India) and Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals (New Delhi), a subsidiary of the K.K. Birla Group (Kolkata, India), have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the construction of a fertilizer production unit in the state of Tripura, India, according to Indian media reports. The planned 50-50 joint venture, which is to be located at Kumarghat, is expected to begin operating in 2016.
