OCI Enters U.S. Ammonia-Methanol Market

Orascom Construction Industries (OCI; Cairo), which operates nitrogen fertilizer plants in Egypt, Algeria, and the Netherlands, has acquired a majority stake in an integrated ammonia-methanol plant located at Beaumont, TX. OCI acquired the plant through a joint venture with Janus Methanol (Basel, Switzerland), Pandora Methanol, in which OCI holds slightly more than a 50% stake.
