Mosaic's Earnings Rise on Improved Phosphate and Potash Sales Volumes

Improved phosphate and potash sales volumes drove up Mosaic’s earnings for the company’s fiscal third quarter ended February 28. Earnings were $222.6 (50 cts/share) compared to earnings of $58.8 million in the year-ago period. Operating income was $3888.9 million compared to $43.7 million because of stronger phosphate and potash demand as well as lower phosphate raw material costs.
