Mosaic Consolidates Units, Sells Thai Distribution Business

Mosaic says it will consolidate its offshore and phosphates business units and permanently close phosphoric acid plants at South Pierce and Green Bay, FL. “These actions are part of a broad effort to improve returns on invested capital in the company's phosphates business segment by eliminating idle operating capital and reducing operating costs,” the company says. Mosaic’s Green Bay facility has capacity to produce 1.3-million m.t./year of diammonium phosphate and mono-ammonium phosphate, and its South Pierce facility has capacity for 730,000...
