Israel Chemicals Reports Fourth-Quarter Earnings Increase

Israel Chemicals (ICL Tel Aviv) reported fourth-quarter 2007 net income up 83%, to $165 million, on sales up 44%, to $1.2 billion. Operating income rose 51%, to $224 million. The fertilizers business led the earnings gain. Operating income from that business rose 83%, to $188 million, on sales up 53%, to $675 million. Industrial products reported a 28% decline in operating income, on sales up 64%, to 286 million.
