Intrepid Potash announces cost-saving measures, including 7% cut in workforce

Intrepid Potash (Denver) says it is implementing a number of cost-saving initiatives. The initiatives include a 7% reduction in Intrepid's workforce as well as support associated with the company's major capital projects that are almost complete. The company had, as of December 2012, 935 employees, the majority of whom were full-time employees. Intrepid also has a collective-bargaining agreement with a labor organization representing the company's hourly employees at Wendover, UT, which expires on 31 May 2014, according to the company's 2012 financial report.
