Fertilizers: Recovery Boosts Demand

Global demand for fertilizers is forecast to grow 3.8%/year through 2013, to 415 million m.t., driven by renewed investment after users pulled back in response to the high prices and credit issues during the recession, says the The Freedonia Group (Cleveland). Global production is forecast to grow about 4%/year through 2013, to 415 million m.t., matching global demand figures. Asia/Pacific will lead the way in terms of production, growing at about 6.7%/year through 2013, to 178.8 million m.t. North America will follow, with production increasing about 3%/year...
