Crop nutrient co-op CHS acquires distributor

CHS (St. Paul, MN), a farmer-owned cooperative, grains and food company, announced today that it has acquired the fertilizer business and related assets of Terral RiverService (Lake Providence, LA), a river transportation service company specializing in the bulk storage and handling of dry liquid materials. Terral RiverService operates along the Mississippi River, the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and inland waterways of Louisiana and southern Arkansas. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
