Cronus Chemical to build $1.2-billion fertilizer plant

Cronus Chemical (Chicago) says it is still considering locations in the United States for a $1.2-billion fertilizer plant as the company evaluates costs and other issues. The urea production facility will likely be located in Iowa or Illinois, although other sites are still under consideration. Reports say that Illinois is offering a $30-million incentive package for the project, and that the plant is projected to create 200 full-time jobs.
