Compass Minerals reports loss on weak salt

Compass Minerals today reported its second-quarter results, posting a loss of $700,000 in earnings, down from a $10.6-million gain year-on-year (YOY). An earnings per share loss of 2 cts/share was far below analyst estimates of 27 cts/share, according to Thomson Reuters (New York).
