Compass Minerals reports higher sales on strong salt business

Compass Minerals, on 28 October, reported results for the third quarter—showing strength in its salt segment, but weakness in its specialty fertilizer business. Net income grew 64% year-over year (YOY), to $15.4 million with earnings per share of 28 cts falling below analysts' estimates of 55 cts, according to Thomson Reuters (New York).
