BASF and Yara select Freeport, TX site for ammonia production joint venture

BASF and Yara have selected BASF’s Freeport, TX site to build their previously announced ammonia plant. The proposed plant will be designed to produce 750,000 m.t./year of ammonia, using a hydrogen-synthesis process. The companies are currently discussing details of the planned joint venture. The project is subject to final approval from the boards of directors of BASF and Yara.
