Agrium to Boost Nitrogen Fertilizer Capacity in Missouri

Agrium Advanced Technologies (Loveland, CO), a business unit of Agrium, says it has begun construction of its polymer-coated nitrogen expansion at the company’s New Madrid, MO plant. The nitrogen, sold under the brand name ESN, is a controlled release fertilizer with a semi-permeable polymer coating that allows eater to enter the urea granule, dissolve the nitrogen inside, and release it as the plant needs it, Agrium says. The expansion will boost ESN capacity at the site by 150,000 m.t./year, to 270,000 m.t./year.   Capital expenditure for the project...
