Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Inorganic Chemicals :: Fertilizers Agrium Investing $1.5 Billion in Potash11:40 AM MST | December 14, 2011 | Rebecca Coons Agrium says its board has approved a 1-million m.t. brownfield potash capacity expansion at its Vanscoy, Saskatchewan facility for approximately $1,500/m.t., or $1.5 billion. The expansion will bring Agrium's total nameplate potash capacity to 3 million m.t. by the second half of 2014. Agrium produced 1.8 million m.t. of potash in 2010, with net sales of $646 million. The engineering and construction of the expansion will be conducted by a Joint Venture between SNC Lavalin Inc. and PCL Industrial Management...
