Agrium Enters into Definitive Agreement to Buy AWB

Agrium has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with grain marketer AWB Ltd. (Melbourne) to acquire all the shares of AWB at a price of A$1.50 per share, valuing the deal at A$1.237 billion ($1.11billion). Agrium, earlier this week, made an offer to buy AWB. "The combination of Agrium and AWB provides significant strategic and financial benefits to a wide array of stakeholders, says Mike Wilson, Agrium president.
