Intrepid Potash reports preliminary first quarter production results

Intrepid Potash announced today its preliminary production results for the first quarter 2013, ended 31 March, with potash production expected to reach between 215,000 and 225,000 tonnes. Trio—its potassium salt mix—production is expected to be between 45,000 and 50,000 tonnes. The company also outlined a capital investment program designed to increase production, extend reserve lives and lower cash operating costs—resulting in a rise of capital spending that is expected to decrease in the fourth quarter, the company says.
