U.S. Chlor-Alkali Operating Rates Up Slightly in July

U.S chlor-alkali operating rates rose in July, climbing 1-percentage point to 90%, according to the latest statistics from the Chlorine Institute (Arlington, VA). Chlorine production rose about 4.8% in July compared with June. About 23,589 tons more chlorine gas and 46,441 tons more liquid chlorine were produced, up about 3.9% and 5.9%, respectively. Liquid caustic soda production also increased in July.
