U.S. Chlor-Alkali Operating Rates Rise

Average operating rates at U.S. chlor-alkali plants jumped to 73% in March, an 11 percentage point increase from the previous month, the Chlorine Institute (Arlington, VA) says. Chlorine production rose about 9% in April compared with March. About 74,253 tons more chlorine gas and 45,982 tons more liquid chlorine were produced, up about 10% and 7.7%, respectively.
