U.S. Chlor-Alkali Operating Rates Hold Steady in December

Average U.S. chlor-alkali operating rates were unchanged in December, holding steady at 85%, according to the latest statistics reported by the Chlorine Institute (Arlington, VA). Though operating rates were stable, production did increase, the report says. Total chlorine production rose 3.9% in December compared with November. Chlorine gas production was higher by 2.8%, to 956,166 tons, while liquid chlorine production rose 5.4%, to 777,903 tons.
