U.S. Chlor-Alkali Industry Operating Rates Rebound in June

U.S chlor-alkali operating rates rebounded in June, jumping 8-percentage points to 89%, according to the latest statistics from the Chlorine Institute (Arlington, VA). May operating rates of 81% marked the chlor-alkali industry’s lowest production level of the year, on par with September and October 2009. The increase in June operating rates is encouraging, market watchers say. Chlorine production rose about 5.7% in June compared with May.
