PPG to Acquire Chlor-Alkali Producer Equa-Chlor

PPG Industries says it will purchase certain assets of chlor-alkali producer Equa-Chlor (Longview, WA) for an undisclosed sum. PPG will acquire Equa-Chlor’s manufacturing operations at its sole Longview, WA site. The plant has the capacity to produce about 88,000 tons/year of caustic soda, 80,000 tons/year of chlorine, and 31,000 tons/year of hydrochloric acid.
