PPG Completes Acquisition of Equa-Chlor

PPG Industries says it has completed its previously announced acquisition of certain assets of chlor-alkali producer Equa-Chlor (Longview, WA) for $27 million. “We have begun to integrate the Longview location into PPG’s chlor-alkali and derivatives business to better serve customers throughout the country,” says Michael H. McGarry, senior v.p./commodity chemicals at PPG. As of the closing, PPG acquired and now operates the Longview manufacturing plant, with 65 employees.
