Oxychem to Idle Plant

OxyChem says it will idle its Geismar, LA chlor-alkali plant due to weak demand for chlor-alkali and vinyl products. The plant will shut down at the end of April and remain down “through much of May,” OxyChem says. “The restart of the plant will depend on business conditions,” the company says.
