Markets :: Basic Chemicals :: Inorganic Chemicals :: Chlor-alkali OxyChem to Build Chlor-Alkali Plant at Johnsonville, TN1:50 PM MDT | July 21, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley OxyChem says it plans to construct a membrane-cell chlor-alkali plant at Johnsonville, TN, adjacent to DuPont’s titanium dioxide (TiO2) manufacturing facility, at an estimated cost of $250 million-$290 million. The chlor-alkali facility will be designed to produce up to 182,500 tons/year of liquid chlorine and 200,000 tons/year of membrane-grade caustic soda.
