The 197,000-electrochemical unit (ECU)/year facility has been shut down since last month for scheduled maintenance. The company says it will continue with a previously announced chlor-alk expansion and membrane-cell conversion project at the facility. Olin announced a $142-million investment at the site last year to expand chlor-alkali production by 25%, to 246,000 ECU/year, reduce energy costs by 29%, and convert the plant from mercury-cell technology to...
