Olin Upgrades Technology, Boosts Capacity at LA Site

Olin says it has completed its $170-million conversion and expansion project at its St. Gabriel, LA chlor-alkali facility. The project includes expanding chlor-alkali production at the site by 25%, to 246,000 electrochemical units/year, reducing its energy costs by 29%, and converting the plant’s mercury-cell technology to membrane-cell technology.
