Olin Picks Ineos Membrane Technology for Chlorine Conversion

Ineos Technologies says its Bichlor membrane chlorine technology has been selected by Olin Corporation for the conversion of its Charleston, TN site. Olin announced late last year that it intends to spend $160 million to expand its Charleston plant and phase out its mercury-based production process by 2012. The company said at the time that several of Olin’s customers were unwilling to accept products manufactured using mercury cell technology.
