Olin Narrows First Quarter Outlook

Olin says it has narrowed its first quarter 2009 earnings expectations to the upper range of its previously announced guidance due to higher than expected eletrochemical unit netbacks. Earnings are now expected to be about 60 cts-65 cts/ share, compared with prior guidance of 50 cts-65cts/share issued on January 28. “Our first quarter 2009 earnings guidance reflected a lack of visibility in demand in our chlor-alkali business,” says Joseph D.
