Olin Lifts Force Majeure at Several Chlor-Alkali Facilities

Olin says it has lifted the force majeure declared on chlor-alkali products shipped from its Henderson, NV, Santa Fe Springs, CA and Tracy, CA facilities. Force majeure was declared on December 31, 2008 due to an “unexpected equipment failure” during an attempted start-up of the plant after a scheduled one-week outage, the company says. The force majeure affected products including bleach, caustic soda, chlorine, hydrochloric acid, and hydrogen.
